{"id":543,"date":"2015-01-06T10:38:25","date_gmt":"2015-01-06T18:38:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ericidle.com\/blog\/?p=543"},"modified":"2015-01-06T10:38:25","modified_gmt":"2015-01-06T18:38:25","slug":"the-diary-of-a-legend","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ericidle.com\/blog\/the-diary-of-a-legend\/","title":{"rendered":"The Diary of a Legend"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I noticed that with Python we used to be icons but this year it appears we have become legends.\u00a0 So I have decided to keep a diary which wrestles with the intimate problems of being a legend.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Monday. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Got up.\u00a0 Was a legend.\u00a0 Had breakfast.\u00a0 Went back to bed.<\/p>\n<p>Tuesday.\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Got up.\u00a0 Still a legend.\u00a0 Fed dog.\u00a0 Went back to bed.<\/p>\n<p>Wednesday.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Exhausted from being a legend.\u00a0\u00a0 Stayed in bed.<\/p>\n<p>Thursday.\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Wife said you\u2019re not a legend, you\u2019re just a lazy old bastard.<\/p>\n<p>Friday.\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Decided to look for new wife.<\/p>\n<p>Saturday.\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Remembered John Cleese.\u00a0\u00a0 Changed mind about new wife.\u00a0\u00a0 Cheaper to stay with the old one.<\/p>\n<p>Sunday:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Tired of being a legend.\u00a0 It\u2019s exhausting.\u00a0 I looked in the bathroom mirror and it appears fame has gone to my ass.<\/p>\n<p>Monday.\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 On the Drew Carey Show.\u00a0 Thought it was going to be Ferguson.\u00a0 Somebody said you\u2019re not a legend, you\u2019re not even funny now piss off back to England.<\/p>\n<p>Tuesday\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Have decided to stop being a legend as I\u2019m becoming the sort of person I would avoid\u2026.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I noticed that with Python we used to be icons but this year it appears we have become legends.\u00a0 So I have decided to keep a diary which wrestles with the intimate problems of being a legend. &nbsp; Monday. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Got up.\u00a0 Was a legend.\u00a0 Had breakfast.\u00a0 Went back to bed.
